October is Disability Awareness Month

October 1st, 2008 by Laurie Moy

In the United States, October is Disability Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating!

We have couple of exciting ways to increase awareness about disability in Africa-

Tour the Continent

Join us as we explore from Algeria to Zimbabwe! Throughout the month of October, we’ll be taking a look at each country in Africa, to see what’s going on in the field of disability.  The best way to follow along, is to subscribe!

If you use RSS, you can subscribe to our feed, or if you prefer, you can subscribe via email (enter your email address  at the Subscribe2 box on the right hand side).

And, as always, if you have questions, comments, or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you!

Win a $25 Gift Card!

You could win a $25 gift card in our FaceBook Recruitment Challenge. We’re on Facebook, and we want you to join our cause! And to spread awareness about disability in Africa, we’re challenging YOU to join and recruit members to our cause. Facebook has made it really easy:

  1. Log in, and join our cause.
  2. Then click on "Go to your Action Center" (its below the POA logo)
  3. Make a pledge to invite your friends to join POA. Facebook will help you keep track of your pledge and update you on your progress (Its really kinda cool!)

On October 31, the person who has recruited the most members will win a $25 gift card to their choice of Amazon.com or iTunes!
