Advocate:

For decades the Lord’s Resistance Army has been wreaking havoc across Northern Uganda. They have murdered, raped and tortured countless lives and have forced 2 million people into fleeing their homes. Although tentative peace talks are underway between the LRA and the Ugandan government, they are very fragile. We urge you to get involved. On October 11, hundreds of concerned citizens across the United States will go to Capitol Hill to urge Congress to take action against the 20 year war in Northern Uganda. Although POA is not directly involved in a campaign against the LRA, we believe that none of us can afford to just sit back and let this continue to happen. A very worthy organization called WITNESS has coordinated a tremendous effort and we recommend that you consider their campaign. They have made it very easy for you to contact your representative. You can email them very easily through this link: WITNESS
